Soil Genesis (26-27)

Soils are natural bodies constantly subjected to change. The study of soil characteristics and classification, including the basics of soil profile description, field textural classification, recognition of master horizons, and essential soil-landscape, soil-vegetation, and soil-climate relationships. Laboratory work involves field excursions to describe soils and examine soil-landscape relationships. Prerequisite: ES 100, ES 161, ES 220, GEOG 100, CHEM 151, CHEM 115, or consent of instructor.
